New World Engine and Machine Works is a small, high quality engine and chassis rebuilding company that has operated in Maine for over 20 years. Machinists Paul Chenea and James Welch are the primary employees with over 60 collective years of experience in antique engine and chassis restoration.

General Shop Services and Machine Shop Services include, but are not limited to the following:

General Shop Services

  • Engine Rebuilding
  • Transmission rebuilding - Standard transmissions are done in house and automatic transmissions are shipped out.
  • Chassis rebuilding - Including brakes, steering, suspension, axles, and exhaust.
  • Coordinate with body shop for sandblasting and painting of chassis parts.
  • Removal and installation of engine and transmission.
  • Installation of wiring harnesses.
  • Painting and detailing of engine and transmission
  • Parts locating
