This Dietrich bodied Packard Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton is a unique all original automobile with approximately 45,000 miles since new. Original engine, paint, upholstery, and top! Would make a fantastic car to be used as is for a very discriminating collector who wants the finest car available of this model in largely original condition. As a Series 645 Deluxe Eight the engine compartment has a 384 cui delivering 106 horsepower. The automobile sports wire wheels (an $80 per set option in '29) and dual sidemounts ($240 option in '29) It was the subject of an article in The Packard Cormorant issue #80 in the Autumn of 1995 - "Autumn Roads: An Ode to the Unrestored"
Let's talk a bit more about this car. Take a look at the photos showing the original tool kit under the front seat...and the air compressor hose for the tire pump! Now look at the other photo showing under the seat on the passenger side. Original bags...still factory sealed...with tire chains specific for this car as well as the original jack! Now look at the photo showing the pile of original side curtains still in "like new" condition. Under the seat there is the original Dietrich factory tag and another original Dietrich body tag is still on the car. Certainly this car demands attention from the finest collections and museums.
